We Have a New Champion!

Well, not yet, but it's still exciting.

We had two exciting Champion Series, but for different reasons.

The Dodgers and Brewers series was insane, ending in the sweep, which I did NOT see coming.

The Guardians (Indians) run was impressive, but the Rays winning three games straight to take the series was impressive.

I'm excited for the World Series for a number of reasons.

    1) Neither the Rays nor the Brewers has won a World Series yet, so we'll be crowning a brand new champion.

    2) The Brewers and Rays have two of the lower payrolls in the league, at 19th and 25th, respectfully. (interestingly, the Guardians had the lowest payroll in the league).

    3) The two teams in the regular season combined to hit less home runs than games played.

    4) They tied for the highest batting average in the majors, at .258. We're going to see some quality baseball without endless tanks.

I'm stoked to see two great teams, technically considered 'low-market,' competing for the championship. Two teams who drafted their stars and built around them, rather than making huge off-season signings. I don't know, it's exciting for some reason.

I'm also stoked on behalf of the two fanbases. To both be in the World Series is incredible, but one fanbase is going to walk away as champions for the first time. We Rangers fans went nuts in 2023. It's gonna be cool to see that again.

Of course, I have to guess who's going to win the World Series. Putting my awful prediction skills to the test once again, I'm gonna say the Brewers take the series in six games.

Thanks for checking out the blog! I'll (hopefully) have another post out soon. Have a great week, and happy collecting!
